What you get
There are many benefits to joining the Surrey Bird Club.
Throughout the year we run field meetings, where beginners are given help and encouragement to learn bird identification. As one member said at a field meeting: “You always learn something new about bird identification or bird behaviour”. The field meetings are not only a good learning experience, but also an opportunity to meet like-minded people. Some excursions take place outside Surrey, for example Farlington Marshes on the south coast or the RSPB reserve at Pulborough Brooks.
You also receive the following:
A copy of the Surrey Bird Report published in the membership year.
Opportunities to attend events with the club
The opportunity to attend the AGM’s lecture.
Copies of the Club’s quarterly newsletter Birding Surrey (here is a sample copy of this publication).
Membership of the Club’s WhatsApp groups. There are three such groups one for field trips, one for passing on or seeking information about birds (and sometimes other wildlife) and the third for sharing photos.
If under the age of 25 a free copy (and free delivery) of Birds of Surrey, the Surrey Bird Atlas 2007-2012 and a pin badge
