Woking Peregrines 2025

Surrey Bird Club will have a stand in Jubilee Square, in Woking town centre on Saturday 7th June and Saturday 21st June in order to introduce the wonder of the local Peregrines to the general public.
Ever since the Peregrines started successfully nesting in Woking in 2016, the club has had a stand in the town centre on (usually) Saturdays in order to show off the Peregrines (save when we could not due to Covid restrictions). Using the http://www.wokingperegrines.com website has allowed everyone to watch the Peregrines via the cameras (now sponsored by the club) which are installed both inside the nest box and on the ledges outside. In 2025 the club is sponsoring the cameras in memory of Steve Chastell as Steve was such a great supporter of the Woking Peregrine Project. But even better, with the stand operating in the town centre around this time, the young birds are often out on the ledges and so easily visible directly. Jubilee Square is a great site where you can see the young birds learning to fly (often calling out as they are doing so!).
Why not join us there on Saturday 7th June or Saturday 21st June for a live Peregrine experience? With telescopes providing detailed images, Jubilee Square gives a good view of both the nest box and the building where the birds roost.
If this event is not convenient, do look out for the Peregrines whenever you are in Woking centre this spring.
